Biography

Jennie Mortimer - singer, actor, dancer, entertainerJennie graduated with a diploma of Music Theatre and voice from “Trinity College London”, where she obtained honours. She has studied all facets of voice production from classical through to contemporary styles and completed a full time dance course at the “The dance Factory” Melbourne.

Jennie has worked extensively as a singer / actor, in Australia and has worked and taught students in professional productions of:

  • Cats
  • Joseph and amazing Technicolor dreamcoat
  • My fair lady
  • Guys and Dolls
  • Aida, with the “State Orchestra of Victoria”.

Jennie has toured throughout Australia with these productions and many cabaret shows and floorshows. Jennie has excellent harmony skills and worked as a session singer for various television commercials and as a backing singer for various artists albums.

Jennie has also supported international acts such as: Boney M, Ronnie Corbett, Village People, Warren Mitchell, to name a few and performed at many corporate functions in Melbourne and throughout Australia. Jennie has performed in local television productions/films such as “Neighbours” , “Phar lap” and worked along side Jackie Chan in “Mr Nice Guy”.

Jennie is currently teaching voice at “Norwood Secondary College” and “Reservoir District College where she has some ninety singing students. She is also director of the choir and teaches both VCE and VET singing. Jennie is also a contemporary pianist and performs all her own arrangements for her singing students.
